I designed the Braided Grass socks to accompany my July release of limited edition sock yarn, Midsummer. I’m so pleased to offer this pattern to you for free.
As a child, I lived in a very old farmhouse with a beautiful meadow where I’d spend my summer playing in the long grasses. With their pretty braided cables and swathes of simple stockinette, these socks are a nod to those days and to the childhood home I still love.
These socks are knit cuff down with a heel flap and gusset. The pattern can be worked with any needle configuration.
Size: medium (8”)
Gauge: 32st = 10cm
Needles: 2.25mm long circular, short circular or DPNs
Yarns: Main colour: Elizabeth Pawle sock yarn in Midsummer (available in my shop)
